STUCCO WALL

This customer had the stucco falling off the wall.  The large section in the first photo was getting ready to completely come off.  We needed to take off the loose stucco to find out where it becomes solid again.  It also lets us find out why it's coming off.

The reason the stucco was coming off was because it was applied over painted blocks.  Since the blocks were painted there was nothing for the stucco to bond to.  We installed a screen attached with tapcon screws for the new stucco to remain stable and secure.   We also overlapped the screen over the good section of wall to keep from developing a crack at the seam.  Once the screen was up we applied 2 layers of stucco.  Applying two layers allowed us to make sure the screen didn't telegraph through and allowed our stucco to dry evenly and fully.  Next we waited 7 days for it to fully cure to keep the new paint from peeling.

Once the stucco was fully cured we primed it with Loxon Concrete Primer and paint it and the rest of the house with Sherwin Williams Emerald with Rain Refresh technology.  This home won't need to be painted for 10 years or more.

DOOR REMOVAL

This customer wanted a door removed and the wall repaired.  We followed the same steps we used to fix the wall in the customer above.

The results were excellent.  There was only a slight difference in texture which isn't noticeable unless your looking for it.

STUCCO CEILING REPAIR

This was a rush job since the house had already been listed for sale and the owners had showings scheduled. Due to a leak in the roof this customer had water damage to the ceiling.  In the couple of days between us looking at this and starting the job a 20lb. piece broke loose and fell.  That could have been a life threatening injury.

We removed all the sagging ceiling and the light fixture  We then installed 1/2" Durock Cement Board and 2 layers of stucco.  We had to use screen on the seams to ensure proper adhesion and prevent cracks.

Once the stucco had time to dry we primed it with Loxon Concrete Primer and painted it with a satin exterior ceiling paint.
